Gambling is legal in Malaysia to all non-Muslims. This extends to casino gaming, horse racing, slot machines and the lottery.
In 2000, the government banned all video game arcades after declaring that they had become “like an opium” for the youth of the country. The most popular games were electronic horse racing and strip poker.
Lottery in Malaysia

Islam is the official religion of the country. It is estimated that 60.3 % of the population follow this religion. Other religions include: Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Animism and Sikhism.
Horse Racing in Malaysia
Malaysian horse racing was introduced during the British colonial era. Horse racing is a legal form of gambling, but it is only allowed at the various tracks. Races are governed under the rules of the Malayan Racing Association.
There are three race course in Malaysia. They are:

Casinos in Malaysia
There is only one casino in Malaysia, but it is among the largest in the world. Located in the Genting Highlands of Pahang, Malaysia, the Casino de Genting is open 24 hours a day and has the largest staff of any casino on the planet (13,000). Malay Muslims are not allowed to enter the casino due to their religion’s anti-gambling stance.
There are 200,000 square feet of gaming space, and 3,000 gaming machines are available.
