Andorra is a landlocked country in Western Europe. It is bordered by Spain and France and located in the eastern Pyrenees mountains. Andorra does not have its own currency, preferring instead to use that of the surrounding nations. In the past, these were the Spanish peseta and French franc, but they have both been replaced by the euro in recent years.
Andorrans are essentially Catalan in culture, though two-thirds of the population of Andorra is made up of non-Andorrans. These minorities are mainly Spanish, French, Italian, British and Portuguese.
The official language of Andorra is Catalan, but Spanish and French are also commonly found. The majority of the population adheres to the teachings of the Roman Catholic church.
