Online
Casino Could Come to Sealand

If you have never heard of Sealand, don’t be alarmed.
Sealand is a man-made, privately-owned island that just
might be the home of a new online casino. The
self-declared “independent state” is owned by Paddy Roy
Bates, and is located in the North Sea, off the coast of
Great Britain. The sovereignty of the former World War
II military fortress has never been disputed, making it
a great location for online gambling and online casinos.
It may be just a hunk of concrete and steel, but a group
of Russian investors see it as something much, much
bigger – the site of a new internet casino juggernaut,
perhaps.
Bates has reportedly signed a white label online casinos
deal with the renowned Playshare online gambling group.
A group of Russian investors want in on the deal, and
have supposedly offered Bates millions upon millions of
dollars as an investment on the internet casino startup.
The investors propose to provide Sealand with “worldwide
internet freedom and internationally unrestricted
internet broadcasting,” the tools they need for the
successful launch of the new online casino.
The Russians’ proposal for the new online casino,
“SealandCasino.com” launch includes new, high-capacity
servers. To date, the launch of the online gambling
venture has been put off by political and legal hurdles,
as any of the choices for its host nation have
restrictions on internet casinos. Now that the concept
can move forward, Bates and the investors are confident
that Sealand Casino is destined to be a success. The
press release concerning the investment shows thathe the
prospect of such a big venture is certainly generating
much excitement in Sealand: a “resident” enthused that
the casino could be “the greatest revolution since the
dawn of the internet."
