No Vegas Strip in Sandra Bullocks New Film "The Blind
Side"

Okay, so maybe yours truly, Sweetie, has a soft spot for chick flicks after
all. I mean, my name's Sweetie for God sakes. Don't ask me why I let them give
me that pen name. Anyways, I'm a big movie fan, and lately, I've been hearing
all this buzz about Sandra Bullock in this new movie called The Blind Side,
which is opening in movie theaters in North America tonight.
From what I can tell by the previews, this looks
semi-chick flicky. Not your Hugh Grant chick-flick, but
more like your Jerry Maguire kind of chick flick.
In other words, it's not so much about Hugh Grant. Sorry
Hugh, no offense - I'd rather watch Jennifer Aniston's
chick flicks, although Sarah Jessica Parker isn't that
bad either (her and Hugh are starring in this new film,
Did You Hear About the Morgan's?).
Now, I'm never one to get all convinced about what
critics are saying, especially when they're being quoted
in the movie preview itself - you know something like
"One of the top ten movies of the year", said by none
other than Larry King. So, when I heard that Sandra
Bullocks performance in The Blind Side is getting
nods for an Oscar nomination, I thought, wait a second.
Don't get me wrong, I think Sandra Bullock is a great
actress. One of the funniest, hottest actresses in show
business, no doubt. And while I don't deny this could
very well be the best performance of her career, the
previews simply don't make the film seem like it's the
right vehicle for "Best Actress" accolades. But then
again, previews hardly ever do movies justice do they?
So, what does all this have to do with online
gambling. Well, hardly anything. Although, upon
investigating a little deeper into Sandra Bullock's
career via iMDP Pro, I realized that the follow up to
Bullock's wildly successful Miss Congeniality,
fittingly titled Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and
Fabulous, is actually set in good'ol Las Vegas, and
is certainly worthy to be listed with the other flicks
on the OCS
gambling movies page. By the way, anyone who is a
big movie buff or works in the entertainment industry,
might like to sign up with iMDB Pro. It costs like $100
a year, but gives you unheard of access to "Hollywood"
business, including stars agent contacts, production
companies, budgeting info, salaries and fascinating
trivia tidbits....but I digress once again).
Going back to Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and
Fabulous, there's some great footage of hallmark
locations on The Strip, including the Venetian Hotel,
and what is one of the most memorable scenes ever shot
at and making use of the pirate ships outside of
Treasure Island Resort and Casino (although I'll never
understand why Bullock's character doesn't slip out of
the showgirl outfit before getting what...or maybe
that's just wishful thinking on my part).
