The popular online
gambling portal, APCW, announced they have been acquired
by the Casino City group for an unspecified amount. The
APCW's outspoken founder, J. Todd, recently relayed the
news, citing he has been appointed by Casino City's
Michael Corfman as Executive Director of APCW, thereby
continuing to take part in the organization's
activities, most notably Todd's popular, weekly video
series called "Perspectives".
Todd told the large
collective of players, webmasters and casino reps (APCW
stands for the Association of Players, Casinos and
Webmasters, by the way) who frequent his site that APCW
will be undergoing some "major changes". With the intent
of better serving members, these changes will include a
new website design, new data feeds, increased funding
for auditing purposes and an upgrade on video
production, which is great news for Todd's
"Perspectives".
For anybody
familiar with "Perspectives", it is a fantastically
funny and informative weekly video series produced and
hosted by Todd himself. Largely serving as a vehicle in
promoting regulated online gambling to help further the
good name of the industry (which has resulted in a some
informative investigative journalism regarding corrupted
politician and UIGEA promoter, Senator Bill Frist),
"Perspectives" videos can be viewed on YouTube. With the
acquisition by Casino City, there's a good chance these
videos will be hosted on the new APCW website as well.
As for Casino City,
APCW marks yet another resource added to their budding
network of online gaming industry websites, which now
include the Gambling Portal Webmaster Association (GPWA),
Rolling Good Times News (RGT Online), Casino City Times
and Casino City itself, which serves as a directory of
land-based gambling destinations, online casinos, poker
rooms and all manner of internet betting sites.
