Casino Games 101: Blackjack

Among online gambling fans, Blackjack is a perennially
huge draw. The classic card game that has been enjoyed
in land-based casinos for years has managed to migrate
to the virtual realm of online casinos, with its
popularity undiminished. Like its closely-associated
card game sibling, poker, Blackjack has long captivated
players for its high stakes and thrilling gameplay.
Blackjack games at internet casinos are no different.
Basically, the only thing separating online casino
Blackjack from it’s “real life” counterpart is the
luxury and convenience enjoyed by the player who can
rest at home while making bets! Oh, and if you are lucky
enough to find a land-based casino without a continuous
card shuffling machine, that would be a difference as
well (Online casinos reshuffle cards back into the shoe
after every hand).
Online casino Blackjack’s goal is precisely the same as
the land-based version: to accumulate a hand of cards
with a cumulative point value of as close to twenty-one
points as possible, without going over (or “busting”).
This delightful online gambling medium was first devised
in seventeenth-century France, where a card game named
“Twenty-One” was all the rage at the royal court. Back
then (as is the protocol at online casinos today),
players would vie to get a higher hand than the dealer,
with twenty-one being the magical goal. Experts believe
that aces being valued at either one point or eleven
stemmed from this timeframe, as did the three-to-two
payout that is used at online casino tables today.
Many online casinos offer Blackjack titles, but the
prospective player should examine their choices
carefully to separate the wheat from the chaff, so to
speak. Most online gambling fans hone in immediately on
fat payouts, but there is much more to sussing out an
exceptional internet casino than just comparing
winnings. You will of course, want to find an online
casino with a strong reputation for trustworthiness and
reliability, too.
