The latest online gambling operator to add skill games to their portfolio (specifically, the GameAccount suite of online skill games), is none other than the ubiquitous Stan James. The bookmaker announced a multi-year deal that will give online gamblers access to GameAccount's popular Gim Rummy, Backgammon and Blackjack games through a Stan James online betting account.
Now offering multi-table tournament action and a complete software upgrade with new navigation enhancements, the GameAccount platform has become a favorite with leading European and UK facing sportsbooks and all-in-one betting sites offering everything from online casino games and poker to sports betting and obviously, skill games.
In other UK gambling news, the UK Gambling Commission's most honorable Director, Andrew Lyman, has announced he will be stepping down from his position so as to pursue more other interests in the online gambling sector. What this amounts to is a senior executive role with the Association of British Bookmakers - a role which Lyman will no doubt transition into very nicely.
Having been more heavily involved in the regulatory and licensing aspects of the gambling sector, which is what you would certainly expect from the Director of one of the busiest gambling commissions in the world, Lyman said he is looking forward to being part of a group that has more "commercial" interests. I suppose it would be safe to say that also translates into making more money. Smart man, if you ask me.
Before shipping out, Lyman will spend his remaining time on internal project work (whatever that means). All I know is that it's different than his normal duties as Director, although I can't help but wonder if it entails making coffee and manning the water cooler. All jokes aside, the UK Gambling Commission's Chief Executive, Jenny Williams, said the Commission is sorry to see Lyman go, but is relieved with the knowledge that he will continue working in the gambling industry and further helping to promote responsible gambling practices amongst casinos and bookmakers from the other side.
