Online Casino Releases New Proprietary Software Game
by Mira Patel, News Staff Writer

When it comes to new online casino game releases,
it's most often the software developers who are
consistently unveiling new batches of games. Whether
it's the horde of Viper platform Gold Series games by
Microgaming (as part of their New Games Rollout scheme),
or Cryptologic's seemingly never ending series of Marvel
Superhero Slots, the top-tier online casino software
developers are king when it comes to the games.
But what about the casino games from proprietary
software platforms? First off, for anybody who doesn't
know what this means, a proprietary software platform is
one that is developed in-house. It is unique to the
online casino offering using it. Software developers
like
Real Time Gaming,
Vegas Technology and Microgaming,
on the other hand, license their software platform to
online casino operators, who in turn, can customize the
front-end of the software to match the look of their
site. In other words, you'll find the same games at
online casinos using the same software (give or take a
few, depending on software upgrades).
For the most part, it's a bad idea to gamble at
proprietary software powered online casinos. The reason
being is that unlike software platforms, which are more
subject to being closely monitored and watched, any
start-up casino can launch itself under the radar, and
take advantage of players with a rigged software
platform. The one exception, however, are large online
casinos, such as Party Casino, which despite having a
proprietary software platform, are in the public
spotlight due to their sheer size and being a publicly
traded company.
That said, when Party Casino recently announced they
launched a new game of their own, we thought it was
newsworthy for anybody who has thought about paying
Party Casino a visit. We don't give our formal
recommendation to Party Casino, but here's a summary
review of their latest game none the less.
Going by the name of "Shipwreck", this new video slot
has five reels and twenty paylines. Features include a
win multiplier bonus round that is achieved when the
Diving Helmet symbol is hit three of more times going
right to left or left to right. In the bonus screen,
simply set the amount of air in the divers tank, and the
deeper he dives, the greater your multiplier will be.
Amazingly, the stake values for this game range from a
mere $.01 to a whopping $1,000. "Shipwreck" also has a
wild symbol (the ship itself), that will substitute for
all symbols except the Diving Helmet when it appears on
the second, third or fourth reels.
