CASINO NEWS
News of the Month...
We start off the month of March, 2008
with somewhat of a warning. It isn't a specific online
casino warning per say, but nonetheless, players should
be on the look out. What has recently surfaced is a wave
of phishing attacks against online casino and sportsbook
customers, many of which are based out of Antigua and
the Dutch Antilles - the gaming sites that is. It isn't
any news there are many online betting sites licensed
out of Antigua and the Antilles. As a matter of fact,
phishing attacks aren't anything new either. Thanks to
security firm Symantec (developer of high-end anti-virus
and spyware software), the phishing attacks were
pinpointed and a warning was issued. Mainly targeting
smaller countries, the phishers have nonetheless been
successful at laundering money from player accounts via
middleman "mules" using money transfer services as well
as bot clients. That being said, players are advised to
never give out their account information through
unsolicited emails. Even if the email looks as if it has
been sent from an online casino's customer service
department, do not click on any of the links in the
email. If you are unsure about the email, visit the
casino website and call customer service or send an
email to the contact details on the website (not in the
email). By no means do not log into your account via any
links sent in an email.
