Online Slots Prove Top
Choice for UK Internet Gamblers

Apparently,
online
slots are predicted to become the next best thing to
white bread. My only question is since when were slots
given this grandiose title? I thought slots already were
the next best thing to white...err, wheat bread
(Believe me, not only is it better for you, it tastes
better too!).
On that note, what
I really want to see is a study showing that online
slots are actually good for your health...maybe even
getting a classification as health food! Entertainment
is a great diversion for treating stress, so why not
right?
Okay, but where am
I going with all this you ask? According to the UK
gambling group, Vernons, which was recently acquired by
Sportech plc, slots make up the largest portion of
online casino gambling revenue in the tightly regulated
UK online gambling industry. Although their report is
specific to their own operations, statistical findings
like these generally dictate trends in the overall
landscape of any industry.
Vernons claims they
have seen a tenfold rise in slots players at their
online casino in the last six months, translating into
some pretty hefty progressive slots jackpots. Vernons'
"Clover Rollover" has been increasing by £10,000 per
day, accumulating over £300,000 in the last month alone.
The current jackpot is worth £674,260, which is bound to
grow even faster and larger with more players taking
note.
While Vernons stats
primarily speak for themselves, several other
UK online casinos are showing just as impressive
numbers. 32Red and Roxy Palace continue to lead the pack
of top Microgaming online casinos, while Virgin Casino
shines for Wager Works, Golden Palace for Playtech and
InterCasino for Cryptologic software.
