Stanley Leisure Has
Another Go at Online Casino Gambling

In the likes of
William Will, Victor Chandler, Ladbrokes and many
others, yet another respectable and established
land-based gambling operator has entered the online
betting sector. Not of European origin (albeit UK
facing), the new face on the scene is none other than
Genting International - one of the foremost
Malaysian-based gambling groups in the world.
Having acquired
Stanley Leisure in 2007 (now trading as Stanley
Casinos), Genting International operates some of the
most popular and prestigious casinos in the UK,
including Circus, Mint, Maxims, Star City, Crockfords,
The Colony Club and The Palm Beach. The group now owns a
total of 46 casinos nationwide. With the company's
latest venture into the online gambling industry, there
is great anticipation to see how things pan out.
Remember, just
because a big name business has the funds and resources
to start an online casino and poker room, doesn't mean
it's bound to succeed. You may recall that before being
acquired by Genting in 2006, Stanley Leisure launched an
online betting site at great costs and and no success.
This time around, the company has opted to go with one
of the industry's pioneering online casino licensors and
Eurasian gaming software companies - Playtech.
Using Stanley's
highly branded Circus Casino name, the online launch
consists of a poker room - Circus Poker.co.uk - and an
online casino under the domain of CircusCasino.com, with
licensing in the UK Gambling Commission whitelisted
jurisdiction of Alderney. Both sites debuted yesterday
and are now taking bets.
A visit to any of Stanley
Leisure's mirror websites now automatically redirects
visitors to StanleyCasinos.com, which provides an
interface to Playtech's downloadable online casino, live
casino (offering live dealer Blackjack, Sic Bo, Baccarat
and Roulette), poker room (iPoker Network), arcade games
and Stanley Leisure's local UK casinos site -
StanleyCasinos.co.uk
Genting
International said in a press release that in addition
to taking advantage of the current online gambling
conditions in the UK and foreseeable regulation in other
countries around the world, the online casino and poker
room will serve as a testing ground for Asian-facing
online gambling sites in the future - a region where
Playtech has established a strong presence thus far.
