You'll likely be
seeing a lot more of Canada-based online casino and
gaming software developer, Chartwell Technology, now
that the UK Gambling Commission has bestowed remote and
non-remote gambling licenses on the company, to be used
as operator licenses for online casinos and other
internet betting sites powered by Chartwell's software
platforms.
Chartwell recently
announced the fortunate news, citing that the company's
senior executives also received personal management
licenses. According to the licensing agreement,
Chartwell will be permitted to continue developing,
supplying and installing software in accordance with
regulations as deemed by the 2005 UK Gambling Act, which
updated the UK's formerly antiquated legislation
governing land-based and remote gambling activities.
In order to receive
such a clearance, Chartwell's entire software platform
underwent a strict certification testing process
ensuring the source code produces fair odds with minimum
payout percentages, as well as proper operation of the
software's Random Number Generator (RNG), which governs
hand results and which is charged to operate in an
unpredictable manner, thus producing random results in
accordance with fair odds.
In response to the
licensing agreement, President and CEO of Chartwell,
Darold H. Parken, is on record saying the company's
commitment "to fair and responsible gaming systems and
to corporate transparency" has been integral to getting
an approval by the UK Gambling Commission, not to
mention putting Chartwell at the forefront of leading
online casino and gaming software developers, such as
Microgaming, Cryptologic and Playtech.
Currently,
Chartwell has developed online gaming solutions for
casino, bingo, poker and soft games (like instant-win,
scratch-off games). All games are available in both a
downloadable software bundle and instant Flash.
Chartwell customizes their software packages for
individual operator licenses, including branding
solutions and overall gaming packages. The company
itself is listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange and is
registered with the US Securities Exchange Commission.
