News of the Month...
As online gambling becomes increasingly regulated
throughout the world, fraud prevention has become a
major concern. And not that it wasn't already. But with
more governments and gambling commissions making the
jump into regulation, more questions are being asked,
and certainly more IT companies are providing services
with fraud prevention and detection in mind. One of the
more recent fraud prevention initiatives is a
collaboration between 192.com and 3rd Man. 192
specializes in database aggregations which eCommerce
providers for online casinos can use to run identity
checks on real money players. 3rd Man specializes in
detecting fraud patterns by means of transaction
comparison at various merchants. By combining both
identity checks and shared fraud data profiling, the new
initiative is a first of its kind. Spokesperson's for
both companies expressed an eagerness to begin providing
the integrated solution to online casinos and gambling
companies in addition to their current clientele of
European eCommerce providers. The realistic hope is that
fraud managers at online casinos will be able to use the
new initiative to both prevent and identify fraudulent
activities in an even more efficient manner. |
