News of the Month...
One of the world's
largest gambling expos - the International Gaming Expo -
has successfully winded down following a giant turnout
of over 25,000 industry guests. Held each year at the
Earls Court Complex in London, IGE - which incorporates
the International Casino Exhibition, ICE, and ICEi (the
online gaming expo), has long served as a good litmus
test for the overall health of the gambling industry.
And while the online and brick 'n mortar divisions of
the expo are kept apart from one another (let's just say
their is some competitive strains between the two),
similar trends and growth patterns can usually be found
in both sectors. This year's "patterns" surprisingly
foretell a good year for the gambling industry, albeit
not as good as previous years. Nonetheless, gaming
operators - both online and off - were not showing
drastic strains on business. In fact, there were several
new products and technological innovations on display at
IGE, resulting in a great deal of business and
networking taking place amongst company representatives
in attendance. Also boding well with attendees (one day
before the start of IGE) was the inaugural International
Casino Conference hosted by Clarion Gaming and the
European Casino Association. |
