Major
Millions Online Progressive Jackpot Hits Twice
by Devon Chapell, News Staff Writer
February 25, 2007
Major Millions progressive
slot jackpot is at it again. Ya, I know what you're
thinking...When is it not, right? With one of the
largest starting default jackpots on the internet
($250,000), Major Millions is always "up there". And if
you've been gambling online for the last four years of
so, you would know that Major Millions has indeed made
several millionaires over the years.
Well, chalk up yet
another millionaire. At $946,886, it's not "technically"
a millionaire jackpot, but it's close enough if you ask
me. KarinK from Norway was the lucky player to nab this
one, but as I write this post, there is a yet to be
confirmed report of another player hitting an
approximate $1.1 million jackpot on Major Millions over
the weekend. Coincidence or not, the phenomenon of big
jackpots hitting in close succession to one another
seems to have happened again.
The largest jackpot
to date ever won on Major Millions was for
$1,779,827.44, while the most recent million-plus
jackpot took place on July 9, 2004 for the value of
$1,066,961.38. If this weekend jackpot gets confirmed,
however, February 2008 will be a time to remember.
Okay, wait a
second. No kidding, I literally have just been told that
this jackpot has indeed been confirmed. It was hit at
32Red Casino, who just issued a press release with a
statement from CEO Ed Ware. The player is known only as
"Anne", and hit the jackpot on the max spin of £3.
(Remember, to hit the max jackpot, you have to place the
maximum bet amount on all of the paylines).
That was fun. I've
never actually been told breaking news while in the
middle of writing "breaking" news.
While on the topic
of progressive online casino jackpots, players are
beginning to pay extra attention to the Mega Moolah
slot, which is available at
Microgaming casinos. It's currently worth over $5
million. With a default jackpot of $1 million, Mega
Moolah is the one progressive online slot that
consistently reaches jackpot levels exceeding $2 million
and up. The max bet is for $6.25, so be sure you have a
nicely padded bankroll if going for the top jackpot.
