Zynga Poker Spreads to Android

23 December 2010 by admin

The last six months has seen a dramatic adaptation on the part of Google’s Android mobile phone. And Zynga, seeing how the adaption of the mobile phone is dramatically increased its popularity, was quick to adapt their Texas Hold’Em mobile poker app to tap into the Android market.

But this is not surprising on Zynga’s part. The online gaming software company was also quick to make the leap into social gaming into the realm of Facebook before the social networking slash friend collection site was over-run with cute little online games. Zynga is best known for their Facebook games Farmville and Yoville. Do not worry; I have not heard tell of either of those making the jump to the mobile phone app world.

It looks like Zymga’s first adapted mobile app to enter the world of the Android was Texas Hold’Em. Players who download the mobile app to their Androids can access the poker game by going online with their phones and accessing Facebook through their Facebook for the Android mobile app. Once signed in to Facebook, Android users can then access the Zynga Texas Hold’Em app, and play with other players live.

But do not get too excited yet. Zynga’s mobile poker app is not a real money app. Like other casino game mobile apps, Zynga’s has players playing with pretend money. I suppose social networking is addictive enough, and Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg probably would not want to encourage what conservatives consider another addiction.

Considering that Zynga was the first Facebook gaming app creator to launch social poker play and tournament play on Facebook, it is not surprising to see Zynga jumping into the next mobile realm and then the next. First they put their Texas Hold’Em mobile app up for iPhone users as soon as Apple would let a casino game app be available for their phones. With the Android’s popularity increasing each day, Zynga’s move to be the first mobile poker app on the Android is also not surprising.

Online gaming is making the move more and more into the mobile realm, but mobile casino game app developers have come up against a wall with mobile phone manufacturers drawing the line with mobile online gambling for real money. There are ways around the mobile app’s inability to allow online gambling, and this is to simply sign into your real player account through the Internet browser on your mobile phone.

Sorry for your luck, mobile app developers. But they are pushing and poking at mobile phone manufacturers and they will keep doing so until a real money casino game app is allowed through. And I have no doubt Zynga will be the first then to launch a real money poker mobile app, and the Android will already be all adapted for it.
