July, 2010 Kicks Off Part II of EHGV’s Summer Slots Series

Monday, July 5th, 2010

The explosive booms and bright flashes in the sky can only mean one thing for Americans. Well, take that back. It could perhaps mean two things, depending on just how deep your love of internet gambling and online casino slots tournaments runs. So yes, America’s Day of Independence has certainly arrived. And so too has the second part of EHGV’s Summer Slots Series.

Now underway at our favorite EHGV online casino, Slots Galore, the month long internet slots tournament runs until July 31, 2010, and guarantees $100,000 in prize winnings. Depending on how much you play through the month and how lucky you get, you could very well be one of five-hundred leaderboard finishers to walk away with cash winnings. Not only is this a large prize poll in terms of actual guaranteed winnings, the sheer number of prize recipients is above average.

Of course, the further down the leaderboard, the less the winnings. But with a minimum of $25 for the 201st -500th finisher, that’s certainly nothing to balk at. Moving up from there, players who finish 101st-200th place will receive $50, 41st-100th will walk away with $100 and 21st-40th will be granted a cool $200 each.

To make the top twenty, however, is what it’s all about. This is where we are talking thousands of dollars for each winner. 11th-20th place will each receive $1,000, while 6th-10th will get $2,500, 4th and 5th place each get $5,000 and third place nabs a nifty $10,000. From here, it’s a big jump for the first runner-up, who will walk away with $25,000, while the top finisher pockets a generous $60,000 in winnings.

The cost to join is only $10, which will get you enough credits to have a solid go spinning the reels of the “Shaark!” video slot. It goes without saying that if you really want to stand a chance at winning, you will need to procure more credits with a $10 rebuy. It makes sense to do so, especially considering that with five rebuy’s you will gain a free entry into part three of the Summer Slots Series, taking place the entire month of August and dishing out $175,000 in guaranteed winnings. Furthermore, the biggest winner of the overall three-month tournament will receive an additional $75,000 grand prize.

And if you just can’t get enough online casino slots tournament action, Slots Galore also offers weekly tourny’s with $5 entry fee, dailies with $3 entry (all day) and $0.50 entry (45 minutes). There’s even Blackjack, Video Poker and Roulette tournaments for all you strategy-minded players. Check out the OCS Slots Galore Casino Review for more information on this top-rated U.S. facing online casino.

Summer Slots Series Online Casino Tournament To Award $500K

Slots Galore Casino is our top choice for entering the Summer Slots Series

Slots Galore Casino is our top choice for entering the Summer Slots Series

It’s that time of year again, folks. No, I’m not talking about Spring cleaning, although since it’s still technically Spring, there’s still time for you to get out the duster and mop. Who am I kidding, right? Anyhow, this being the OCS gambling blog and all, what I am referring to is the wildly popular, annual $500,000 Summer Slots Series hosted by English Harbour Gaming Ventures (EHGV.

The flagship online casino operator of Vegas Technology Software-powered gaming destinations, EHGV manages some of the most popular U.S.A. online casinos in business today, including Slots Galore, Millionaire Casino, Super Slots and English Harbour Casino herself. Boasting all of the credentials that make for a safe and fair place to spin the reels, EHGV casinos make for a solid place to grab some free casino bonus cash, and certainly for taking part in online slots tournaments with guaranteed cash winnings.

SummerSlotsSeries2In the case of the aforementioned $500,000 Summer Slots Series of tournaments, obviously, there is lots of cash up for grabs, albeit not all at once. The way the tournament works is that it is broken down into four stages. Over the course of all four stages running from June 1 to August 31st, a total of $500,000 will be give out to over 1,500 players.

Stage 1 is taking place right now, continuing through the month of June and guaranteeing $100,000 in cash winnings. The breakdown of winnings dishes out $50,000 to first place, $20,000 to second place, $7,500 to third, $2,500 to forth and fifth, and $1,000 to the remaining top ten finishers. In total, the top 275 players will receive winnings (both casino credits and loyalty points). Tournament action takes place on the enormously entertaining “Funky Chicken” video slots, with entry fee and rebuys (up to 500) costing $10. Each rebuy qualifies for 75 credits.

Stage 2 runs for the entire month of July and ups the payout from $100K to $150,000. This time around, all action is hosted on the “Shaaark!” video slot (another fun and entertaining bonus slot) with the same entry and rebuy rules as Stage 1. Building on Stage 1, the top 500 finishers will receive a payout; however, with more money to give away, first place receives $60,000, second gets $25,000, third place bags $10,000 and all other finishing spots receive double the amounts awarded leaderboard placers in Stage 1.

Both Stage 3 and Stage 4 fittingly take place throughout the hottest month of the year – August. In terms of betting action, Part 3 is where it’s at, as Part 4 is simply a $75,000 cash award which goes to the player with the highest combined balance over all three tournaments (June-August). Part 3, which takes place on the “California Gold” slots, is the most generous stage of the Summer Slots Series, giving out a total of $175,000 in winnings and extending the leaderboard from the top 500 finishers to the top 800 scorers. First place walks away with $75,000, 2nd-5th place get the same as Stage 2, 6th-10th get an additional $500 ($3,000 each), while the next 190 finishers get the same payout as that given in Stage 2. Those players who make the leaderboard seated from 201st-800th place receive $25 each.

It is never too late to join the Summer Slots Series. In other words, even if one of the tournaments is already underway, you can join at any time. Furthermore, you will always be eligible to receive the Stage 4 payout of $75,000. All it takes is a big jackpot win, albeit seasoned tournament players will tell you the more you wager, the better your chances of winning at slots tournament.

While all of English Harbour’s online casinos make for a solid place to open an account, Slots Galore offers the best welcome bonus in our opinion, not to mention 25% reloads on all further deposits. The first deposit bonus is worth 100% up to $1,000 Free and has a low 20x play-through. Furthermore, all games (except European Roulette) count toward the wager requirement – at varying degrees, of course – with tournament play wagers also helping meet the play-through. Needless to say, many other online casinos prohibit tournament play with bonus money.

May 2010 Tournament Schedule Sample at Slots Galore Casino

May 2010 Tournament Schedule Sample at Slots Galore Casino

For anyone looking to find a solid selection of online casino game tournaments – ranging from slots to roulette – the EHNV group of online casinos is an outstanding network to join. Made up of old favorites like Millionaire Casino and English Harbour Casino and Super Slots, these days it’s VIP Slots Casino and Slots Galore which are making waves with players from the U.S. Any of these casinos make for a great place to sign up – but if we had to choose just one right now it would be Slots Galore. The reason being is their welcome bonus, which is worth100% up to $1,000 Free on a single deposit. The play-through is only 20x and ALL casino games go toward the play-through except for European Roulette.

The big tournament for the month of May, 2010 is fittingly called the May Money-Maker, and is a $100,000 guaranteed slots tournament taking place from May 1-31st.

Weekly slots tournaments consist of $3,000 guaranteed freerolls and pot percentage prize pools, which in effect, means the winnings can get pretty high. The more players, the greater the prize pool. Needless to say, EHNV is very popular, so no worries there. A different slot machine is chosen each week, and entry fee is just $5. Next tournament runs May 16-23rd, followed by May 23-30th. As for the freerolls, well, they are free to join! The next weekly freeroll runs from May 17-24th, followed by May 24-31st. Please note that you can join a weekly tournament at any time. Of course, the more you wager, the greater your odds of winning.

As for daily slots tournaments, there are over thirty to choose from, ranging from $0.01 to $5 entry – all of which offer pot percentage winnings. The bulk of the daily slots tournaments have a $3 buy-in and run from 12:01 am to 10:59 pm Eastern Standard Time.

In addition to slots tournaments EHNV offers Roulette, Video Poker and Blackjack tournaments. Video Poker tournaments run every Monday-Thursday and Friday-Sunday. Weekend tournaments are played on Deuces Wild and the Monday-Thursday tournament is played on Jacks or Better. A monthly video poker tournament called the May 100-Hand is played on Deuces Wild and runs from May 1-31st. All video poker tournaments have a $5 entry fee and pay out The Pot.

As for Blackjack tournaments, these include the Weekend Blackjack Classic played every Friday through Sunday and the Head2Head played every Monday through Thursday. Weekend tournaments have a $10 entry and guaranteed prize pool of $5,000 while the Head2Head weekday tournament has a $5 entry and pays The Pot.

Most rare of all in the online casino tournament field are Roulette tournaments. However, knowing this all too well, EHNV offers weekly online roulette tournaments on the American Roulette wheel. The entry fee is only $2, and winnings are pot percentage. The next tournament begins May 13th and runs through the 20th, followed by the last of the month from May 20-27th.

If you are ready to get in on the action, open a free account at Slots Galore Casino. They are our top recommendation. Read the OCS Slots Galore Review for more info. Please note that players residing in Louisiana, Maryland, Oregon, Missouri, Canada and The Netherlands are not permitted to open accounts.

Millionaire Online Casino Giving Away 200% Bonus up to $500 Free Through Weekend

Thursday, April 15th, 2010

Top U.S. facing online casino, Millionaire Casino, is giving away a special bonus now through Sunday, April 18th. Arguably better than their normal welcome bonus, and the welcome bonuses of most other online casinos at that, Millionaire is offering 200% up to $500 Free for real money depositors who use a credit card to fund their bankroll.

Millionaire’s normal bonus, albeit impressively large (worth up to $2,000 Free on the first deposit and $5,000 free over the course of three deposits), is a match bonus. In other words, it is worth 100% free, as opposed to the aforementioned 200% offer. Although it’s less free money overall, you get a greater percentage of free funds with less risk to your own money!

In terms of wager requirements, the limited time 200% bonus has a play-through of 20x with normal wager restrictions. As always, read the full bonus terms posted inside the cashier. If you can’t find them, contact customer service and have them emailed to you BEFORE claiming the bonus. Needless to say, this is the perfect bonus for play on the slot machines.

In order to claim the bonus, simply contact customer service (via the cashier section of the online casino software platform) and inform them of your deposit and request the special offer. As with all promotion claims, do not wager any funds until the bonus money has been received.

For anyone unfamiliar with Millionaire Casino, they are powered by cutting edge Vegas Technology Software that has been laboratory tested for RNG fairness by Certified Fair Gambling (CFG) – a California based testing house with credentials in the land-based and online gambling industries (jacobsongaming.com). Millionaire Casino is owned and managed by EH Gaming Ventures – one of the leading US facing online casino networks with licensing and regulatory credentials in Antigua & Barbuda.

April Tournament Schedule at EHGV Online Casinos and Go Casino Looking Good

Wednesday, March 31st, 2010

It’s the last day of March folks, and you know what that means. Yes, less winds and rain…hopefully :). But it also means the end of English Harbour Casinos (EHGV network) March Madness slots tournament and the beginning of yet another loaded round of slots tournaments the World Wide Web over.

EHGV has not officially announced their April schedule as of yet, but if it’s anything like March, slots players will undoubtedly be satisfied. The March Madness tournament, which ends at midnight tonight (check time zone differentials inside the online casino software platform), is dishing out $300,000 in guaranteed winnings to tournament players, including $150,000 just to the first place finisher alone. And this was in addition to daily and weekly pot tournaments and weekly slots free rolls.

The other big U.S. facing online casino network offering impressive guaranteed monthly slots tournament winnings is Hambledon NV, whose most popular site, Go Casino leads the way in traffic and customer ratings. In March, Go Casino was guaranteeing over $480,000 in tournament winnings. April 2010 looks even better with over $500,000 in guaranteed winnings, as well as three free tournament entry’s per player. The full schedule will be posted on Go Casino’s tournament page at midnight tonight.

Another thing worth mentioning about EHGV and Hambledon is they also offer casino game tournaments. EHGV online casinos have bi-weekly Blackjack and Video Poker tournaments, a monthly video poker tournament and weekly Roulette tournaments with pot percentage winnings. Go Casino offers daily weekday Blackjack tournaments with $0.99 entry fees and pot percentage winnings, and comprehensive video poker tournament schedule every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday with $1.99 entry fees and $1,500 guaranteed winnings.

The First Online Casino: Who, What, When, Where, and Most Importantly, Why?

Monday, January 18th, 2010
portrait of old man

Is being the first and oldest all that it's cracked up to be?

Here’s a history lesson for you:

I remember back at the turn of the Century (Oh Lord, I say that way too much…and yes, I’m getting way too old), when it was a big deal to be the “first online casino”. You know, being the first online casino to go live on the Web, and thus earning the connotation that “first” equates to being ahead of the pack? Obviously, this is true to a certain extent. I mean, with age also comes a certain amount of respect, should it not?

In this business, it is hard to stay in business if you’re cheating players. Indeed, it does happen. Some of the smallest trees in the online gambling industry cast the deepest shade, if you know what I mean. Information travels fast online, and when enough players get swindled and enough blacklists get published, rogue online casinos have no choice but to shut down. The only problem is that they often rebrand themselves only to begin the process all over again :(. For those online casinos that have endured the test of time without going rogue, however, respect is earned and respect is given.

So the question remains, does first necessarily mean better, or even, best? And, who was the first online casino anyways?

Surprisingly, verifying who was actually the “first”, and consequently, the oldest online casino, poses more difficulty than gauging the benefits of being first. You see, the title of “first” is highly contested, and everybody wants to be first for bragging rights and the prestige and reputation that comes from the title. Of course, for the online casino that is no longer in business, the title of first absolutely doesn’t mean a thing. Nor does it mean a thing when the title has been self-endowed – and there are plenty of online casinos self-endowing themselves with the title of first or best or largest etc.

What does mean a thing and is actually more important than being the first online casino, in my opinion, is the history of the operator. For example, these days, the best online casinos are usually apart of a network of sites, often growing in sync with the successes of the network itself. The longer a network has stayed in business, without having earned a tarnished reputation mind you, the more trustworthy and dependable it’s casino’s ought to be.

So, instead of trying to pin who was the actual first online casino, which really could be any number of sites launched in the mid-nineties (Inter Casino, First Web Casino, Lasseters etc.), pay mind to who are the more established online casino networks. A good place to get started would be the English Harbour Gaming Ventures (EHGV) Network (for U.S. players) and the Jackpot Factory (for UK and Euro players). EHGV has been in business since 1997/98 and indeed launched one of the first online casinos – flagship property, English Harbour Casino. EHGV now operates a medium sized network of eight thriving online casinos, including OCS favorites, Super Slots and Millionaire Casino.

As for the Jackpot Factory, they have been in business since the mid-nineties, launching what could actually be the first online casino. Are you ready for it? You’ll never guess the name. First Web Casino. The Jackpot Factory now maintains a network of seven online casinos, including OCS top picks, All Slots Casino and All Jackpots Casino.

What is most important about EHGV and the Jackpot Factory is that they have been in business for many years, all the while earning a solid reputation and continually expanding their reach on the internet. That is the value of history, people! It should stand for something, and in my opinion, carries much more weight than simply launching the first online casino. Don’t be fooled by titles. Learn your history!

Win a Kindle Reader 2 Through Super Slots Casino VIP Plan

Win a Kindle Reader at Super Slots Casino VIP Plan

Super Slots Casino is giving away five Kindle Reader’s (Kindle Reader 2) as part of the Featured Sweepstakes promotion at VIP Plan. For anybody unfamiliar with VIP Plan, it is the player loyalty rewards program for the English Harbour Gaming Ventures (EHGV) network of online casinos. While you can join the program – and subsequently enter the Kindle Reader sweepstakes – through any of EHGV’s online casinos, I thought it only fair to call out Super Slots, being that I heard about the sweepstakes via my Super Slots account. ūüôā

As with all of the sweepstakes at VIP Plan, it takes a minimum number of rewards points to enter the drawing. So long as you have enough rewards points, you can enter the sweepstakes as many times as you like, thus increasing your chances of winning the Kindle Reader. The sweepstakes entry is five-hundred (500) points, which is hardly a dent for the active player. Every $10 in wagers equates to a minimum of five points and a maximum of 38 points, depending on the casino game wagered and VIP status (See the chart below for details on rewards point conversion).

All Rewards points shown below vary depending on the corresponding online casino game, and are based on every $10 in wagers at said game:

VIPplan-AMBERRequired Points: 0

Blackjack: 5 points  |  Video Poker : 7 points  |  Slots: 16 points  |  Table Games : 8  points  Specialty Games: 20 points

VIPplan-BRONZERequired Points: 10K

Blackjack: 6 points  |  Video Poker : 8 points  |  Slots: 18 points  |  Table Games : 9 points  Specialty Games: 22 points

VIPplan-SILVERRequired Points: 25K

Blackjack: 7 points  |  Video Poker : 9 points  |  Slots: 20 points  |  Table Games : 10 points  Specialty Games: 25 points

VIPplan-GOLDRequired Points: 75K

Blackjack: 8 points  |  Video Poker : 10 points  |  Slots: 23 points  |  Table Games : 12 points  Specialty Games: 29 points

VIPplan-PLATINUMRequired Points: 225K

Blackjack: 9 points  |  Video Poker : 12 points  |  Slots: 16 points  |  Table Games : 13 points  Specialty Games: 33 points

VIPplan-DIAMONDRequired Points: 500K

Blackjack:10 points  |  Video Poker :13 points  |  Slots:30 points  |  Table Games :15 points   Specialty Games: 38 points

For brand new players to the program (given Amber VIP Status by default), it would take just $800 in wagers on the slot machines to enter the Kindle draw.¬† Don’t forget that new players are entitled to a very generous 100% Match Bonus up to $300 Free, as well as 5% cash back bonus on all reload deposits. In other words, deposit just $200 and you will receive a starting balance of $800. That right there is your free entry into the Kindle Reader Sweepstakes. If you’re hoping to win some extra cash anyhow and simply want to gamble online – regardless of extra comps and promotions – the VIP Plan is just another way of getting something free at Super Slots.

It’s also a great opportunity to capitalize on free bonus money and other merchandise. How does $500 in free bonus money sound instead of a Kindle Reader? Well, the VIP Plan offers a bonus money sweeptakes too. It costs 500 rewards points to enter the $500 Cash Bonus (the next one held December 31, 2009) and just 250 rewards points to enter a $50 cash bonus draw (next one to be held December 12, 2009).

If the whole sweepstakes thing isn’t your thing (not that it shouldn’t be….I mean, you are a gambler, right ūüôā ), there is a large array of merchandise that can be directly purchased with rewards points. Of course, we’re talking more rewards points for some of the higher end items, like the iPod Touch or the 42 inch plasma HDTV. Other redeemable merchandise includes Amazon.com Gift Certificates, and everything from steak knife sets to T-shirts!

If you want to tap into EHGV’s VIP Plan rewards, don’t delay – Open a Free account at Super Slots Casino OR better yet, Download Super Slots. The draw for the five Kindle Reader’s at Super Slots takes place this upcoming December 30th – just in time to celebrate the New Year with some new reading material (up to 1,500 books!) via new-fangled technology. God love the USB! There is no denying that the Kindle Reader 2 is one of the hottest, if not the hottest, Christmas items right now – so you can bet many players are coughing up their rewards points left and right, for this one.
