Microgaming Again Makes Early Slots Game Announcement

16 February 2011 by admin

I hate to speculate but I am kind of beginning to wonder about Microgaming. I saw an announcement today in which they have unveiled their online slots games that will be launched next month. They did the same thing for their February online slots—announced what they would be releasing in January.

And this has me wondering if Microgaming is changing their marketing strategy just a bit. Tweaking it you might say. They have not been known to leak little details about the online slots games they are soon to be releasing. I think the only two the leaked details about were the two biggies from last year: Thunderstruck II and Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring.

And here it is still February and I know the following details about the next four online slots games that Microgaming will be launching in March:

One of the new online slots games is to pay homage to the US’s national bird, the Bald Eagle. Players will be able to trigger up to sixty free spins that are retriggerable from inside the free spins feature.

They are launching another exotic Oriental slots game that will feature the 243 ways to win instead of paylines that will bear the name Asian Beauty. There is also a Mirror bonus prize that is randomly triggered in the slots game’s second screen.

To kick off what will hopefully be weather that is beginning to warm up is an online slots game that is called Party Island. The slots game’s features, which include free spins and multipliers, revolve around the perfect beach getaway.

And finally the last online slots game is to be the third in Microgaming’s very well-known Retro Reels slots series. The second game in the series was launched earlier this year with a diamond theme. Well the third installment of the Retro Reels series has a fire them and is called Extreme Heat.

Now ordinarily players might get the names of the forthcoming online slots games before they are launched. But it is not normal for features to be leaked this early. So this has me speculating that perhaps Microgaming is trying something a little bit different in regards to their marketing strategy. Perhaps they are releasing details early to raise some hype in hopes that the excitement players feel for the new online slots games and their features will drive players to Microgaming powered online casinos.

But the question becomes why—why would they feel the need to do this? They are one of the most well-regarded online casino game software developers in the industry. They also bear eCOGRA’s seal of creating ‘fair and safe’ games. With that reputation and backing, why would they need to leak details. Unless it is merely to try to give their partner online casinos a bit of a boost.
