Full Tilt Pays Outstanding License Fee

8 August 2011 by admin

Players at Full Tilt have been given another sign that things are moving in the right direction. Unfortunately for players the news about one of the largest online poker sites in the industry has not been all that positive since the early part of this year.

We here at onlinecasinosuite.com have been following the saga of Full Tilt since it was indicted and its domain seized by the Department of Justice on April 15th. That was when American online poker players lost the ability to play their favorite online casino game. What was worse was the fact that they could not access the money they had in their player accounts. On June 29th players in Great Britain and the rest of Europe all lost their access to their player accounts when the Alderney Gambling Control Commission suspended Full Tilt’s license and ordered a hearing. Indeed things looked bleak.

But then things started to look like they were turning around.

For starters the AGCC postponed their hearing for Full Tilt until the 15th of September. This was done so that Full Tilt would have the possibility of striking a deal to bring in some new investors or even new owners. The hope is that with new investors or new owners that the online poker site could recover. This gave players hope that things would turn around at Full Tilt, at least to the point that they could recover their money. Then Full Tilt’s secondary license with the Kahnawake Gaming Commission was restored, which was also seen as another sign of hope for the online poker site.

But now another ray of hope is shining on Full Tilt. They have paid a $250,000 licensing fee to the AGCC which had been outstanding. In a statement Full Tilt said, “The recent payment of overdue license fees is in the players’ best interests. It allows commercial negotiations to take place that might result in a successful refinancing deal.” In other words, you need to spend some money to make some money. With Full Tilt’s license all paid in full and up to date, there is a greater chance that new investors or owners could be found and brought in to bring the online poker site back up.
