Eleven Internet Casinos Close Their Doors Voluntarily

3 June 2011 by admin

We might as well start calling this the Dark Ages for online gambling in the United States. First Black Friday and then Blue Monday. Now eleven online casinos have voluntarily closed their doors, saying that the US Department of Justice is making it too difficult and too risky to serve US players. Let’s face it, the Conservatives and their zeal to save our souls and control how Americans spend their money and use their time has gotten to be too much to deal with. The eleven online casinos to close their doors to the US are:

Go Casino
Online Vegas Casino
VIP Slots Casino
Slots Galore Casino
Super Slots Casino
Crazy Slots Casino
Silver Dollar Casino
Grand Vegas Casino
English Harbour Casino
Caribbean Gold Casino
Millionaire Casino

Not all of those online casinos are owned and operated by the same online casino group. Of the eleven listed, Go Casino, Online Vegas Casino and Crazy Slots Casino all belong to Hambledon New Venture, while VIP Slots Casino, Slots Galore Casino, English Harbour Casino, Millionaire Casino and Super Slots Casino all belong to English Harbour Gaming Ventures. The fact that there are multiple online gambling groups present in this group leads me to believe the closed doors are not coming from the owners, but perhaps from the software provider.

All eleven online casinos are powered by Vegas Technology software. This could be a sign that Vegas Technology is pulling out of the US market, similar to how Microgaming pulled out of the US market when the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) was signed into law back in 2006. With all the hoopla going on now I am willing to bet that Microgaming feels like they are sitting pretty. After all they and none of their partner online casinos are tied up in the hoopla the Conservatives and DoJ are bringing on in the online gambling industry.

Of course saying that these eleven online casinos all closed their doors because Vegas Technology is pulling out of the US market is pure speculation on our part here at But you have to admit it does make you wonder. But if Vegas Technology is pulling out of the US online gambling market it leaves Real Time Gaming as the only major software developer in the US facing market.

Good article, but why do you think there are conservatives in the Justice Department?
