Learning to Love Slot Machines all Over Again

Wednesday, February 8th, 2012

I have a confession to make. I have a love-hate relationship with slot machines. There, I said it. By God, I may never be forgiven by the slots fanatics out there, but at least I got it off my chest!

Granted, I don’t know if it’s just me, or if anybody else out there has this problem, but the thing is, I used to love playing slots all the time! Now, whether I’m playing slot machines on the computer, in Las Vegas or on an overpriced cruise ship, I find myself loving and cursing the slot machines in a single breath. If you’re wondering how on earth this is possible, welcome to the club.

Sure, there’s those freakishly inhuman people who never seem to get upset no matter how much money they lose on the slots. I’m not one of them. I’m just a Jedi in training. I can only aspire for the day in which the force will be with me, and I too will be able to lose $500 on the Monopoly slots and look that machine in the eye….err, coin slot, and say, “Nice doing business with you. Thanks for the good times”.

No, I’m thinking most people are probably wondering how it’s even possible to curse and love something on a single breath to begin with. Let’s just say that’s how long it takes for a slot machine to take your money. If you’re one of those deep breathing Yogi’s, you could probably get in ten spins (and lose twenty bucks) on a single breath!

But seriously folks, that’s part of the problem. Looking back on my relationship with slots, I can see that during the times in which I went on auto-pilot and wasn’t taking my time and wasn’t reminding myself to have fun and that I was losing money I could afford to lose, that’s when the love would turn to hate and I would start shouting out expletive’s at the slot machine (as if it could hear me), and all to the chagrin of the poor little old lady sitting behind me. Actually, she turned out to be more of a sailor than me, but that’s another story.

Needless to say, I’m a happy man when the machine is spitting out coins. My challenge is to learn how to be happy when it’s not.

That said, I suppose the moral of this story (and the whole point of this diatribe) is that if you too find yourself loving and hating the slot machines in a single breath, remind yourself to take it slow and have fun. Take in your surroundings, stop to sip on a drink and watch those around you. If you’re playing at online casinos, remember to take more frequent breaks. You could check your email, update your Facebook account or catch up on some news.

The point is to prevent yourself from getting into what I like to call the zombie zone and forget that you are playing slots to have fun. If you can win some money while your at it, then consider yourself lucky.

IGT Renews Agreement With Hasbro

Saturday, January 21st, 2012

If there is any doubt about online gambling coming to the United State, one need only take a look at the recent partnership renewal between two iconic American companies: Hasbro Incorporated and International Gaming Technology (IGT). On first glance, one might be wondering what on earth a toy manufacturer has anything to do with a casino gaming and slot machine manufacturer. But then again, perhaps that’s what makes the partnership all the more American.

The fact of the matter is that IGT and Hasbro have been “doing business” for quite some time. Ever played the Monopoly slot machine at a Vegas casino before? How about Cluedo? Well, these games (among many others) are the fruition of a licensing agreement between Hasbro and IGT – the former of which owns several popular board game brands.

Reaching beyond the brick ‘n mortar casino industry of late, IGT has developed several of Hasbro’s brands into online slot machines, including Dungeons and Dragons, Battleship, Transformers and the aforementioned, highly popular, Cluedo and Monopoly. In the Spring of 2012, IGT will be launching “Monopoly Plus”, which will showcase new gaming innovations and is expected to be a big hit.

While Monopoly Plus may not be available for U.S. citizens to wager at real money online casinos just yet, it’s pretty clear that IGT is ready and willing. The recent renewal of IGT’s licensing agreement with Hasbro gives the slot machine manufacture rights to produce new game titles, and distribute games to legalized online gambling markets through 2014. Before then, there is a good chance that the U.S. will become one of these markets – and IGT is certainly planning on it.

New Online Bingo Software Announced

Wednesday, August 31st, 2011

BingoTwo of the top online casino software developers in the industry have announced new bingo software. Both Microgaming and Rival Gaming announced new bingo games that will be available at select casinos soon. The new games will offer unique spins on the traditional game of bingo.

Microgaming has bingo software that it calls Bingo+ Plus. The new bingo software is customizable, so each online casino that carries it can make it their own and differentiate themselves from the other casinos that carry the software. The Bingo+ Plus software was rolled out in June but will be licensed to more online casinos starting in September.

Meanwhile, Rival Gaming has also announced new online bingo software. According to the company, the new instant bingo software will allow players to play bingo with 30, 75, 80 or 90 balls. The different number of balls gives the game a different speed and type of gameplay. 75-ball bingo is most popular in the United States, while 90-ball bingo is more popular in Europe.

In addition to the variations in number of balls, the new online bingo software will have a wide range of payout tables, will feature either automatic or manual daubing (marking of your cards) and adjustable speeds. Players will be able to play up to 100 cards at once. To keep track of all of those cards, the software features automatic card ordering that moves the cards that have the best odds or the most wins at the top of the set of cards.

Though bingo used to be a game associated with the elderly, it is quickly becoming popular with the young gamblers. With the help of new software from Rival Gaming and Microgaming, it should continue to grow and become one of the most popular online casino games.

Freaky Cowboys Slot at Bodog Casino

Monday, August 29th, 2011

freaky_cowboys1Bodog Casino has a new entry in the Freaky series of slots. This time, it is set in the Old West. The new online slot is called Freaky Cowboys and it is available now at Bodog.

The titular cowboys in Freaky Cowboys actually are freaky. I’m not sure what they are, but they seem to be aliens or monsters or something. They are cartoons, though, so they’re kind of like aliens or monsters made by Pixar. Freaky Cowboys is a 5-reel online slot that lets you play up to 30 paylines. The slot has a 20,000 coin jackpot when you bet the maximum amount on the maximum lines.

The online slot features symbols of four different freaky cowboys, a cowboy hat, boots, lasso, gun, money bag and sheriff’s star. Each freaky cowboy becomes animated when used in a winning combination. They do things like shake a money bag or twirl a pistol, which then accidentally goes off, shooting a buzzard flying through the sky.

There are several bonuses available in the slot game. The bank bonus symbol unlocks a second-screen game where you try to stop bandits from robbing a bank. There are 15 bandits trying o rob a bank and you shoot as many of them as you can. Players can also win multiplier bonuses and free spins. During free spins, winnings are multiplied by five or ten times.

To play the newest online slot on the site, visit Bodog Casino. This online casino game and more can be found online. The game is available as a free trial. If you are not a Bodog member, you can take advantage of the $200 welcome bonus as well.

New Slots at Virgin Casino

Wednesday, August 24th, 2011

lacucaracha-bonusToday, Wednesday, August 24, three new online slots debut at Virgin Casino. They’re not exactly new to the industry, but are new to the casino. Each is based on a region of the globe, as the online casino offers a virtual tour of places you may or may not want to visit on your vacation.

The first new game is Bangkok Nights, which is based on the nightlife scene in the Thailand capital. The game is a 5-reel, 25-line video slot with bonuses that give you wins up to 100 times your wager. The game has symbols of clubs, parades and other things to play up the party atmosphere.

Cherry Blossoms is another new online slot. This game is set in ancient Japan and features symbols of Japanese architecture, fans, geishas and more. It is a 5-reel slot with 25 paylines. The maximum jackpot for the game is 12,500 coins.

The other brand new slot is La Cucaracha. That is a slot based in Mexico. “La Cucaracha” means “the cockroach” in Spanish and is a well known, though clichéd, Mexican song.  The game features a Mexican roach who knows how to drink tequila and party. It is a 25-payline game with a 5,000 coin jackpot.

Though those are the only brand new games at Virgin Casino, the casino is still highlighting almost-new games such as the Chinese-themed Dynasty and the Roman-themed Call of the Colosseum. Both games were reviewed recently by OnlineCasinoSuite.com. They are also featuring an online slot called Chests of Plenty. Before you get too excited, they are talking about treasure chests.

All of these games and more can be found at Virgin Casino. Stop by the casino if you want to check them out.

One Online Slots Gets its Own Site

Wednesday, August 17th, 2011

It is not every day that you hear of an online slots game so popular that a company creates a site just for it. For those of you familiar with Microgaming’s Mega Moolah, that is just the case.

Mega Moolah is a progressive online slots game created by Microgaming that as resulted in three variations over the last few years. In total it has paid out close to $30 million since it was created. The call to fame for this progressive is that its jackpot’s minimum is 1,000,000 credits, which is what it resets to once it is won. But the average win is $2,379,806.

Now Mega Moola UK (notice the ‘h’ is missing from the company name to give it some difference between it and the Microgaming online slots game) has created a site that is only for Mega Moolah. The variation they offer right now is only the African safari themed variation, but it is still Mega Moolah and it still has that impressive jackpot. Clark Gamble, media representative for Mega Moola UK, said they wanted to give players “a one-of-a-kind user experience and produce a site that was as close to the game as they could in term so animation, sounds and graphics.”

The site itself is not just limited to a flash version of the online slots game, it also offer players other features via animal buttons. There is Giraffe who gives details of the game to players. For those wanting to download the software there is an Antelope to click, and for those who would rather play via their mobile device, they can click on the Elephant. The Monkey will give visitors a list of the top four largest wins.

Since it is its own site, Mega Moola UK has also given its Mega Moolah site a couple of welcome bonuses. Players can claim a 100% bonus worth up to £200, and then with their second deposit players can claim another 100% bonus worth up to £300.

We here at onlinecasinosuite.com have never seen an online slots game, or any online casino game for that matter, have a site created solely for itself. Sure there are online poker sites, but they offer several varieties of poker. This is not a site dedicated to just online slots, but only one online slots game: Mega Moolah.

Future of Online Gambling Games—the Live Dealer Trend

Tuesday, August 16th, 2011

The Internet is a fast paced place to be. Innovation is the name of the game and new things are constantly coming out. What this means for those who keep their interests in the Internet is to keep up with its fast pace. And online gambling is no different.

Already in the last couple of years we have seen some advances in gaming technology, especially when it comes to the online slots games that software providers create for their partner online casinos. We have seen the launch of new types of bonus games, the iSlots from Rival Gaming, the rich graphics of 3D online slots, multi player online slots which pit thirty players against each other to see who will claim the most from the bonus game, and finally there have been the real 3D online slots, the ones who do need the special 3D glasses to bring the graphics out of the screen.

But that is only online slots. What about the rest of the online casino games out there? Oh do not worry, they have had their own innovation of late: live dealer games. The most prominent are online poker and online blackjack, two of the most popular card games in both land casinos and online casinos. Although online baccarat is on its way up the ladder too as it has become a high roller favorite of late.

For online poker and online blackjack, live dealer games are the closest thing to playing in a land casino. A real dealer, usually an attractive woman, is present in front of the camera to deal the cards and smile. Players can actually see the whole table, see how the cards are dealt and still get to play from the comfort of their own homes. More and more online casinos are working to implement live dealer games to draw in more players to catch up with the online casinos who have already begun live dealer games. And those who already offer live dealer card games are working to expand their offerings. Some are adding more live dealer games, such as live roulette. Others are expanding their live dealer games to their sister online casinos; recently Bodog Asia announced that they are setting up a studio to offer live dealer online poker.

It is clear that if an online casino is going to keep up with the rest of the online gambling industry, they will have to get on board with the live dealer games. Players love these games since it offers them the closest thing to playing in a land casino without having to leave home.

Microgaming’s New Spingo Casino Game

Tuesday, August 2nd, 2011

microgamingEvery month, the big name casino software developers launch new games. The idea is to constantly supply players with new games because, after a while, people tend to get sick of playing the same games over and over. Sometimes the new games are nothing more than a standard online slot with a different theme. Other times, it’s a totally new game, as is the case with the new offering from Microgaming.

The new game is called Spingo and it is a new type of online table game. The game, which can be streamed online with Flash software, is based on a bingo type of draw machine. It is kind of like a combination of bingo and roulette. Numbered balls are dropped onto a spinning wheel, similar to a roulette wheel. The players have a number of roulette-style bets that they can make. They can bet on individual numbers, a combination of numbers, or on the color. The more you bet on, the more your wager has to be.

In addition to Spingo, the new roulette-bingo hybrid table game, Microgaming is also releasing a number of other new games. The others are online slots, such as Multi-Player No Worries, Multi-Player Isis, and Triangulation.

These new games can be found at online casinos that carry the Microgaming suite of games, including 32Red, All Slots Casino, Roxy Palace and Go Wild Casino. Microgaming is one of the first and most respected software developers in the gambling industry. They are located in the Isle of Man and were established in 1994.

More Online Gambling Apps for the Android

Thursday, July 28th, 2011

It seems Android is the new black when it comes to mobile online casino gambling. Last year we here at onilnecasinosuite.com saw several mobile casino apps or games from online casinos go live on the Apple iPhone platform. But this year seems to be all about that little green alien and the Android platform. As such All Slots has just launched two new online gambling apps for the Android platform.

One of these new apps is focused on only one casino game: online blackjack. This is a real money online casino app, meaning that players will have the capability of playing for real money. But there is also a play for fun option that can be used for practice or if a player does not wish to wager real money. The All Slots Blackjack app will be available to download for free on the Android platform and will be free of ads as well.

The other app that has been released is being called the All Slots Casino Lobby app. It gives players the ability to play eleven top online casino games from their Android device. All Slots has taken some of the most popular online slots games from their Microgaming powered lineup and brought them to the app. The app slots lineup includes: Thunderstruck, Tomb Raider, Mermaid’s Millions, Major Millions and Mega Moolah. But there are of course other online casino games as well. The table games include Classic Blackjack and European Roulette (single zero roulette). Fans of video poker will find Jack or Better. The scratch card lineup offers two titles: Dragon’s Fortune and Bingo Bonanza. And finally there is Royal Derby, which is a horse race game. All Slots has packed a lot into this app, which is also available free for download on the Android platform without ads.

It is unsurprising to see more and more online gambling apps being developed for the Android as its popularity increases. As this year moves on we are bound to see even more mobile online casino apps coming out of the online casino industry. Analysts have predicted that mobile gaming is where the hot spot will be this year and next based on the fact that more and more mobile casino apps are being downloaded. This is also why more and more online casinos and software developers are partnering with mobile gaming companies. These two Android apps are most definitely not going to be the last ones released for that platform. And there is little doubt that more will also be made for the Apple iPhone and iPad as well.

Virgin Casino Launches Monopoly-Themed Slot

Thursday, July 28th, 2011

Monopoly-movie-Ridley-ScottVirgin Casino released a new online slot today. The game, developed by IGT, is called Monopoly: You’re In the Money. The online slot is based on the iconic board game, which from its debut in 1904 until now has pleased and punished children worldwide.

Monopoly is both one of the most popular board games ever and one of the most boring. I somehow managed to avoid playing it as a child, but was forced to do so at work one day (long story). As I imagined, spending hours sitting there waiting for other players to roll the dice and decide what to do doesn’t make for an interesting game. For whatever reason, though, the game was hugely popular and became a pop culture icon.

Now Virgin Casino has an online slot based on the board game. The game is a 5-reel, 30-payline slot that features the Monopoly board as players move around it to win bonuses. The reels feature symbols associated with the game, such as the player pieces, buildings and more. The online slot has a big Mystery Bonus, where players are able to win up to 12,000 times their wager.

Warren Eloff, Head of Products at Virgin Games, said that he is excited that Virgin is one of the first online casinos to offer Monopoly: You’re In the Money. He said that it is bound to be popular due to “nostalgia for this household favorite.” Maybe his household has never played the game, but it is definitely not a favorite in mine. Eloff also said that “with its fantastic features and high number of bonuses, this game will not disappoint – it’s a casino classic in the making.”
