| "The
Everything Casino Gambling Book, 2 ed."
by Meg Elaine Schneider |
Completely revised and updated, the 2nd Edition of
"The Everything Casino Gambling Book" is a great
all-around book to learn how to navigate both land-based
and online casinos, the rules of the most common and
profitable casino games, and basic, yet optimized,
betting strategy. For anyone planning a trip to Las
Vegas for the first time, of for anybody who just wants
to learn the rules, lingo and some sound strategy for
multiple casino games, this is the perfect book.
Schneider truly does a great job getting to the point
and succinctly explaining things in a simple, cheery
manner. In other words, this isn't your typically boring
all-in-one casino gambling manual. The book has a
comprehensive glossary and is split up into twenty
chapters as follows (in no particular order):
"The Odds", money management, psychology of gambling,
record keeping, online casino gambling, player
incentives/comps, casino travel packages, Craps,
Baccarat, Blackjack, Roulette, poker games (against
other players and the House), slots and VLT's, special
table games, Bingo, Keno, horseracing and sports
betting/casino sportsbooks.
Although you probably already know the ins-and-outs
of online gambling (which you certainly will find
navigating Online Casino Suite...nice plug eh?),
Schneider's chapter about online gambling was pretty
good. She briefly covers bonus play-through
requirements, licensing and other general information
and also provides some legitimate online gambling
resources, including
eCOGRA.
As far as strategy goes, one of the best features are
some helpful basic blackjack strategy charts. Overall,
"The Everything Casino Gambling Book" is a great and fun
read that will certainly help you build your confidence
inside the Casino.
