| "Phil
Gordon's Little Blue Book" by Phil Gordon |
Phil Gordon is a very familiar face at World Poker
Tour final tables. Gordon's "Little Blue Book" is a
follow-up to his "Little Green Book", which is a
recommended read before jumping into the Blue Book
(unless you are a more advanced poker player). The Green
Book is a culmination of over fifteen years of notes
Gordon has kept on his playing experiences at the
No-Limit Texas Hold'em table.
In the Blue Book, Gordon teaches you how to apply his
theories and poker strategies to actual hands.
Recounting actual hand's he has played himself, this is
a valuable learning tool for players who already have a
solid grasp on poker. In other words, this book could
really help you to take your poker game to the next
level in No-Limit Texas Hold'em tournament action.
Phil covers cash games, early tournament play, middle
and late tournament play, and the final table in
succinct detail with spot-on scenarios. At the end of
each section, Phil gives a "Key Analysis", which is
essentially his unique insight relating to poker hands
that can only come from experience.
The other great thing about this book is that it
comes in hardback and is small enough to carry around in
a briefcase. A true gem and collector's piece for the
bookshelf and gambling library, it's actually a good
thing Phil Gordon's "Little Blue Book" is bound, because
you will definitely be putting some wear and tear on it. |
