February 27, 2009 - Online poker playing fans of Microgaming are in for a treat, as the
pioneering software developer has announced the release of a new table poker
game - Triple Pocket Hold'em Poker. Not just any old poker hybrid, this game
is the latest addition to Microgaming's Gold Series of table games, which
for anybody who isn't familiar with the Gold Series, is Microgaming's select
group of games offering players expanded betting options, which
unfortunately do not include the option of getting paid out in real Gold.
I personally haven't played Triple Pocket Hold'em Poker, but I can't deny
that it sounds like a fun and interesting game. Let's just hope it's not as
hard to play it as it is saying "Triple Pocket Hold'em Poker" ten times real
fast. Seriously, try it - it's pretty tough. In their own description,
Microgaming makes it sound like a very entertaining and stimulating game.
Considering the game pits you against two dealers - let's just say it will
keep you on your toes.
The objective of Microgaming's Triple Pocket Hold'em Poker is to beat the
two dealers (you probably would have never figured that one out, eh?). Now,
how you go about beating these two unscrupulous and shady dealers is another
matter. This is where you brilliant poker skills come into effect. Not only
do you get a choice in shaping your own hand through the option of
discarding two sets of pocket cards, these very same cards will make up the
dealers' hands. Obviously then, your discard has an increased element of
strategy to it. The third and final set of dealt card will make up your
final hand to throw down against the dealers.
The betting stakes for Triple Pocket Hold'em Poker range from 1 to 200,
thus making it accessible for most bankrolls. There is also an ante bet
option available, which can potentially pay out 50:1. Not bad if you're into
making ante bets. I've never been a big fan, but don't let that stop you.
This is coming from a guy who likes to make proposition bets at the craps
table (but only when I'm totally trashed out of my mind...I justify it by
convincing myself that I'm playing the lottery). See there - in addition to
telling you about a new online casino game, I've unfolded a golden tidbit of
wisdom - Be careful getting trashed - it is liable cause for you to justify
anything.
