April 18, 2008 -
This month has been pretty active in
terms of new casino game releases and large jackpot wins,
which is something I like to always hear about. Some months
are slower than others, but April was definitely one of the
best months so far in 2008. Microgaming online casinos have
been home to some serious jackpot wins, while Cryptologic
has put the petal to the metal for their game releases in
April.
Microgaming actually started
the month off with an anticipated game release. Shortly
after reporting on this new game, which was the sequel
to the "Break Da Bank" online video slot by Microgaming
(aptly called "Break Da Bank Again"), a player actually
did break the bank by winning $18,960 with the free
spins feature - just barely exceeding the base game's
maximum payout. The jackpot was hit at All Jackpots
online casino, which isn't surprising, and was claimed
by the same player who bagged over $7,500 last month on
the Thunderstruck online slot.
Being a Microgaming video slot,
"Break Da Bank" is available at many of the Web's best
online casinos (say's something about Microgaming,
doesn't it?). The aforementioned, big-money win
was hit at one of Microgaming's most popular online
casinos,
All Jackpots, which is the sister site to
All Slots and belongs to the Casino Rewards Group.
Loyal players at Casino Rewards get some of the best
perks and bonuses on the internet through the infamous
VIP Lounge.
The biggest news of all for
both Microgaming and Casino Rewards, however, was the
recent Mega Moolah jackpot win, which almost eclipsed
the world record for largest progressive jackpot to
date. Paying out over $5.75 million to a player at
Casino Rewards' Blackjack Ballroom, you can bet Mega
Moolah is going to get a surge of action in the coming
months.
Moving on to Cryptologic, they
were obviously most affected by the horny toads of
Spring because they've spawned something like seven new
online casino games this month. (Okay, so I guess this
analogy of springtime sex doesn't work that great,
because in order to spawn games in April, Cryptologic
would have had to conceive them in August). You get the
point! Not sure why I made it, but there you go!
But seriously, Cryptologic did
indeed unveil six new multi-line video slots
(twenty-five to thirty paylines) and the highly
anticipated Street Fighter slot (based on the popular
Capcom video game and upcoming feature film) this month.
They had more to show for than any other casino game
developer.
To sum things up, Microgaming
and Cryprologic get my vote for best online gambling
software provider in the month of April, 2008. Not that
you would or should disagree, but I have a feeling some
of you wise guys might consider my own personal vote
anything but official. But, if you could see me all
dressed up in my pajamas and beer in hand as I make this
statement, you would know just how serious I am. Okay,
so don't take it from me. Go read up on
Microgaming and
Cryptologic and see for yourself.
