February 14, 2009 -
I recently came
across an article comparing the games of Keno and Bingo -
both of which can be played under one roof at many online
gaming destinations these days. While Keno has always been
offered at the casino, and at online casinos for that
matter, bingo's place has usually been all by itself in the
form of a stand-alone internet bingo room. These days,
however, many online casinos and and all-in-one internet
betting sites are offering their own bingo platform.
So while I don't think anybody is going to confuse
keno and bingo (other than the fact that they sound
similar), there some people who simply won't have a clue
playing each game for the first time, and therefore,
could stand for a little explanation. That said, I
suppose the best question is this: "Which one rhymes
with dingo?" I know, I can't stop folks. I'm addicted to
telling bad jokes. And you thought gambling was an
addiction. Look out! I'm on a roll!
Going back to my original question (if I can remember
what that was): "Which offers better odds: Keno or
Bingo?". Since they are both based on numbers betting,
which essentially means they are just like playing the
lottery, keno and bingo are based purely on
good-old-fashioned luck (As opposed to new-fashioned
luck, which frankly, I don't know anything about). And
this basically means that neither game is potent with
great odds.
Bingo and keno are casual games that should be played
for fun and entertainment - of course, with the looming
hope that a big jackpot will be won. It's possible to do
so in both games, although you will find a greater money
pool playing keno. Also, there are multiple winners in
keno, as opposed to bingo where only one person can call
B-I-N-G-O. But just because you can pick your own
numbers playing Keno, don't think that you will stand a
greater chance of winning. It still comes down to luck.
If you wanted to differentiate the type of experience
you get with keno and bingo, I suppose you could say
that Keno is a more fast-paced game, while bingo is more
engaging in that it requires you to check your playing
card. In keno, all you have to do is take the card to
the keno counter and they will tell you if it's a winner
or not. But then again, if we're talking about playing
online, this also applies to bingo - If you're a winner,
the software will let you know. In conclusion, I would
like to thank the Academy and all the little people who
believed in my bingo and keno playing abilities...err, I
mean..... luck....good fortune...propitious
nature....you get the picture. So, whether you want to
play keno or bingo online, take your pick. And good
luck!
