September 17, 2009 - So, now that we have a
bonuses section for the Players Blog here at Online Casino Suite, I suppose it's
nigh time I start talking about some bonuses. And mind you, I already have. So
don't go sending me any hate mail ahright....But seriously, just how much can
any one person talk about bonuses. Okay, maybe not a good question. If you've
read this blog before, you would know that I can pretty much talk anything to
I guess the better question is, just how much can anyone
really talk about online casino bonuses, and
really have something useful to say? If you stop to
think about it, there is actually plenty to be said for
bonuses. The truth of the matter is that casino bonuses are
far too often not what they appear to be. In other words,
there's generally lots of red tape. And with that, all
bonuses are not created equal. That's plenty to talk about.
One of the more irksome conditions that govern bonuses
are game restrictions in meeting the wager requirement. If
you already know a thing or two about casino bonuses, then
you will know that most online casinos only permit you to
play casino games with higher House Edges, such as slots and
keno. In many ways, it's the best thing casinos can do to
protect themselves from the fact that they are giving away
free money. Of course, there's the maximum cashout limit on
bonuses, which most players don't know about. Yep, we'll
save that one for another article - but basically it's a
stipulation that says you can only withdraw a cap in
winnings that have been earned with bonus money.
So, where am I going with all this? Well, what about
finding an online casino bonus that will allow you to meet
the wager requirement with more advantageous casino games -
you know, those games that offer a lower Casinos Edge, such
as Blackjack and Video Poker. Do they even exist? Well,
ctually they do. And some are better than others. That said,
let's take a closer look at video poker bonuses, which quite
frankly, are more rare than Blackjack bonuses.
If you stop to think about it, this makes sense. Just
take a look at online casino payout percentage reports
(those that actually publish them anyways....such as
online casinos). Video poker consistently returns a
fantastic payout. In fact, I've seen better payouts for
video poker than online blackjack. Just how good, you ask?
Try over 100%. Yep, I've seen video poker payouts actually
return in the players advantage on more than one occasion.
Sometimes, I've seen them as high as 110%, no shit. Now,
would I cuss if I was joking?
So, going back to the question of whether or not video
poker bonuses exist...well, they do. While some online
casinos only count a certain percentage of video poker
wagers toward meeting the wager requirement, there are a
handful of online casinos that actually offer true video
poker bonuses that count 100% of wagers. Err, take that
back. Online Casino Suite has actually only come across
three online casinos that offer true video poker
