June 30, 2009 -
If there was ever a way to play bingo, I would think that
your mobile phone would prove the most fun. First off, I'm
not just saying this because Jackpot City Bingo recently
developed a mobile version of their online bingo platform.
Sure, that's what partially inspired old Sweetie to write
this dang post, but as I like to always say, "that's all in
good timing". Just kidding - I don't really always like to
say that. In fact, I think that's the first time I said that
in my life. I just thought it would be cool to say "as I
always like to say".
Anyways, the main reason why I think online bingo
would be fun to play from a mobile phone is because I just
recently spent all weekend sitting on the beach and
scratching off bingo style lottery tickets. Never mind if I
came out on top or not. The bottom line is that I
contributed some of the winnings to my vacation fund, which
I'm hoping will allow me to travel to Portugal and sip, err
gulp, lots of that stuff they call Porto and Vino Verde.
Even if I didn't win a single card, I gotta tell you that
staring down at that little bingo lottery card, scratching
off numbers with a shell, sipping, err gulping, cold beer
and soaking in the Sun's rays was the best downtime I had
all year. And now that I'm the proud owner of an iPhone,
assuming I didn't have my bingo lottery cards, I could
easily have passed the time away clicking on virtual bingo
cards instead. Heck, even if I didn't have an iPhone, I
still could have still enjoyed some mobile online bingo.
All you really need is any cell phone and an account with
an online bingo room like Jackpot City Bingo. FYI, that's
the same Jackpot City associated with eCOGRA approved
Jackpot City Casino, which is owned and managed by the
Gibraltar based Belle Rock Gaming group, aka, Carmen Media.
In fact, you can open an account with
Jackpot City Casino and get access to all of their
mobile games, which are powered by the innovate Spin3 - a
Microgaming partner.
In the case of an older model phone (essentially meaning
anything other than a Blackberry or iPhone), bingo players
will first need to download the online bingo mobile software
to their phone via a SMS text link. For iPhone users, all
you need to do is logon to your account via Safari. Sorry,
USA players. Jackpot City is not open to USA residents. See
the OCS
Online Bingo Rooms page for more options.
