December 07, 2008 -
With all this talk about a recession
and global financial crisis, you wouldn't know better if you were an online
bingo room. Hey, I wouldn't mind being an online bingo room - lot's of balls
and non-stop chat (okay, that didn't come out right). The point I'm trying
to make is that the online bingo sector is apparently doing better than it
ever has before. The respectable UK bingo portal, Bingo Port, has done some
data research of their own, and is reporting an 80% increase in players over
the last six months (May through October, 2008).
Ya, I know. Sounds hard to believe.
Addressing this conundrum, so to speak, BingoPortal said they had actually
predicted these figures at the start of their tracking and research some
eighteen months ago. I, for one, am inclined to take it for what it's worth.
The fact of the matter is that BingoPortal's tracking relates to the UK
online bingo sector, which as we all know, is legalized and fully regulated.
Furthermore, Brits absolutely love their bingo.
And let's not forget the U.S. The
entire Bingo Workz network (see our
bingo room reviews of Bingo Workz
sites), which is open to U.S. players, is also doing quite well for itself.
My theory is that the economic "crisis" is actually fuelling more online
bingo activity. Just take a look back at the Great Depression. During that
time, people needed an escape from the realties of life, and found one at
the movies. While the rest of the world was rolling in dirt, Hollywood was
rolling in dough.
Similarly, online bingo rooms (and
online casinos for that matter) offer a form of entertainment that's an
escape for many people. Bingo especially fits the bill during hard economic
times because it doesn't cost that much to play. Heck, you can get bingo
cards for as little as a nickel at Bingo Workz. Compared to going to the
movies, you can easily spread out $15 in bets over the course of a couple
hours. And staying at home means you're going to save on gas money and the
exorbiant prices at the snack bar (You can't buy alcohol at the movies
either).
And remember, hitting BINGO is not that
hard to do. Although you're not going to win as much playing a progressive
video slot machine, the risk and odds of online bingo are much more
compatible with a meager bankroll. The jackpots aren't that bad either -
especially if you open a real money account at Bingo Workz, where you can
get up to $100 in free cash to help get you started.
So, during these hard times, make
yourself a spicy Bloody Mary, kick back and log online to play some bingo.
It truly is a rewarding form of entertainment that will give you hours of
fun...and hopefully, some extra spending cash.
