An Ode to Clarion Gaming and the Best in All Things
Online Gambling
When it comes to gambling
publications and industry conferences, there is hardly
any name more recognizable than Clarion Gaming.
Responsible for publishing some of the online gambling
industry's leading trade journals, magazines, news, and
annual reports, Clarion Gaming is as prolific as gaming
media company's get. Yours truly, Sweetie, has been a
longtime follower of Clarion Gaming, especially their
hallmark gambling news site, iGaming News. From what I
can tell, Clarion Gaming's annual internet gambling
report is as in-depth as it gets, and is a great read
for anybody who does business in the online gambling
sector. But lately, I don't know what's going on with
Clarion Gaming. One of their internet betting news
sites, "Internet Gaming Media" hasn't had any updates in
quite a while - and when I sent an email to their main
contact, I didn't even get a reply. Now, don't get me
wrong. I'm no prude when it comes to email response
times. I'm not the best at replying to mail myself.
However, my question was regarding a subscription. I
mean, who doesn't respond to a potential paying
customer? That is, of course, unless there is something
taking place behind the scenes which the public doesn't
need to know about. That is, of course, unless they are
not taking any more paying customers because they are
considering closing up shop. Now, this is all
speculation, of course. All of the conferences scheduled
for later this year - even into 2010 - appear to still
have the green light. These include the European iGaming
Congress and Expo (September 15-17, 2009), the Asian
Gambling Briefing (October 20-21, 2009) and the king of
all gambling expos, the International Gaming Expo
(January 26-28, 2010 in London). So, for the sake of all
us who appreciate great news reporting, in-depth
industry reports and the best in gambling conventions,
let's hope that Clarion Gaming will keep doing business
as usual. |
